Somebody Has to
Find the Room.

It is rarely the most interesting job on your desk, and it is usually yours.

So here is ours. A room of your own with a door that closes, Wi-Fi your whole group can use, coffee on the table, and a kitchen that sends lunch in at the hour you asked for rather than the hour that suits us. Your coordinator settles the room, the timings and the food before the day, so on the morning itself you walk in and start.

You are welcome an hour before your group arrives, to set up whatever you have brought with you.

Book the room. We’ll have it ready before you get here.

The Part Everybody Emails to Ask

Booking a meeting room is a practical job, so here is the practical part in one place... including the one answer that is a no.

Private, with a door that closes behind you. The Britannia Room seats 32, the Library 65, and the Wine Cellar 90.
Wi-Fi
Free, and your whole group is welcome to it.
Screens
The Library and the Wine Cellar have them, and a microphone if you need one. The Britannia Room does not.

Parking
On site, free, and waiting when your group arrives.
Lunch

What it costs
Menus start at $29 a guest. There is no room fee, and a $100 deposit holds the date.

Honest Pricing. No Surprises.

A 20% service charge applies and taxes are folded into your quote. Your deposit comes straight off the final bill, so you never pay extra simply to hold the room.

Three Rooms That Work

Pick the One That Fits the Table.

A dozen people around one table is a different room from sixty in for the day. Here are the three we would put a meeting in, and what each one is honestly good at.

The Britannia Room set as one long table for a private business meeting, with plantation shutters and brass chandeliers at Crown Tavern in Glen Mills, PA

The Britannia Room

One table. One door. Nobody wandering through.

The room a working meeting actually wants. One long table with everybody around it, daylight through the shutters down one side, and a door that shuts behind the last person in. Close enough that nobody raises their voice, quiet enough that nobody repeats themselves.

The Library private room with brick walls, daylight and a wall screen, set for a company team day at Crown Tavern in Glen Mills, PA

The Library

For the day the whole department comes.

Brick, daylight on two sides, and room enough to break a large group into smaller tables and bring them back together over coffee. It is also the room with a screen on the wall, so if your morning needs one, this is where to ask for it.

Best for Team days, 25 to 65

The Wine Cellar private room with its own bar and wall screens, set with round tables for a large company session at Crown Tavern in Glen Mills, PA

The Wine Cellar

When it is the whole company, not the team.

Downstairs and stone-walled, with its own bar and screens on the wall, and it takes the largest session we host. Worth knowing that it is candlelit and dark by design, which suits an afternoon a great deal better than a nine o’clock start.

90Seated
130Standing

Best for Large sessions, up to 130

We have two more rooms and neither is right for a meeting. The High Tops seats thirty beside the bar, and the Garden Bar & Patio takes two hundred outdoors. One is bar seating and the other depends on the weather, so both suit the drink afterwards far better than the work beforehand.

Easy to Get To

Straight Down 202,
With the Parking Waiting.

Half the work of a meeting is getting everybody into the same room at the same time. We are on Wilmington West Chester Pike in Glen Mills, straight down 202, which makes us a short run for anyone coming from Chadds Ford, Concordville, Media, West Chester or Wilmington. The parking is on site and free, so nobody arrives late having circled for a space.

The mailing address says Glen Mills. The tavern itself sits in Concord Township, Delaware County, which is where the Crown in Concord name comes from, and Chadds Ford is up the road. So if you have been looking at meeting rooms around one and conference space around the other, this is the same place under two names.

Good to Know

Meeting room questions

Do you have a private meeting room in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania?

We do. The Britannia Room is the one most working meetings take... one long table with everybody around it, picture windows down one side, and a door that closes behind the last person in. It seats 32. The Library seats 65 if you are bringing more than that, and the Wine Cellar takes 90 for a bigger session. There is no room fee on any of them.

Is there Wi-Fi we can use?

Yes. Guest Wi-Fi is free at The Crown and your whole group is welcome to it, so nobody is tethering off a phone halfway through the morning.

Is there a screen we can use?

In two of the rooms. The Library and the Wine Cellar both have screens on the wall that you are welcome to use, and there is a microphone if you need one. The Britannia Room does not have a screen, and we would rather tell you that here than at the door. If your morning needs one, ask for the Library.

Can we book a room for a half day or a full day?

Yes. The standard shape is an hour to set up and three hours in the room, which suits a meeting with lunch in the middle of it. If you need the room from nine until one, or for the whole day, tell Zoe the hours you have in mind when you inquire and she will tell you what is open on your date.

How many people fit around one table?

Thirty-two, in the Britannia Room. That is the room where everybody genuinely sits at one table rather than calling across two of them, which is the whole reason it works for a meeting. Fewer than a dozen and it is worth a word with Zoe about which room suits you best... a room built for thirty feels empty with eight in it.

What does a working lunch cost?

Event menus start at $29 a guest and the figure that comes back to you depends on the menu you choose. A 20% service charge applies and taxes are folded into the quote. You are not charged for the room, so the per-person price is genuinely the price. Plated lunches run three courses from twenty guests, and coffee and hot tea come with them. Under twenty guests, ask Zoe which menus are open to you.

Is there parking, and how easy is it to find you from Chadds Ford?

There is parking on site and it is free. We are at 451 Wilmington West Chester Pike in Glen Mills, straight down 202, which is what makes us easy to reach from Chadds Ford, Concordville, Media, West Chester and Wilmington. Nobody arrives late because they were circling for a space.

Are you a conference center?

No, and it is worth being straight about it. The Crown is a tavern with private rooms rather than a conference center. What that means in practice is a room of your own with a door that closes, free Wi-Fi, coffee on the table, parking outside and a kitchen that sends lunch in when you asked for it. If your day needs a screen, the Library has one. If it needs a full conference set-up, we are not that, and most meetings do not need one.
