You’re Hosting.
You Shouldn’t Have to Work.

Tomorrow belongs to the couple. Tonight belongs to everybody who helped get them here.

And you’re the one holding it together. The seating. The timing. The aunt who changed her entrée. The cousins who have driven four hours and would rather talk than look at a seating chart.

So hand it to us.

From your first conversation to the final toast, your event coordinator helps with the room, menu, timing, and all the details in between. When everyone arrives, your job is simply to be there with them.

You get the room on your terms... and the night is yours to enjoy.

Come as you are... we’ll treat you like royalty.

Getting Everybody Here

The One Night Nobody Is Local

The wedding party knows where it’s going. Your college roommate does not. And neither does the uncle who set off after work.

With easy access from the Main Line, Chester County, Delaware County, Wilmington, and beyond, The Crown gives everyone one simple place to meet... with onsite parking when they arrive.

The Library

Everybody in one room, the night before.

Sixty-five at the tables with space between them to move. Private, warm, and comfortable enough to settle in for dinner, speeches, and the stories everyone has heard before but still wants to hear again.

The Britannia Room set as one long table with lamps lit for a small rehearsal dinner at Crown Tavern in Glen Mills, PA

The Britannia Room

The wedding party and the parents.

Thirty-two seats around one table... the wedding party, both sets of parents, and whichever grandparents made the trip. Small enough that it stays one conversation all evening rather than splitting into six.

32Seated
40Standing

Best for Rehearsal dinners, 12 to 32

The Wine Cellar private banquet room with round tables and stone walls, set for a large rehearsal dinner at Crown Tavern in Glen Mills, PA

The Wine Cellar

For the large one.

Ninety seated, one flight down, and candlelit rather than lit. On most occasions we would call that a drawback... the night before a wedding is the one where it is the reason to book it.

90Seated
130Standing

Best for Large parties, 45 to 90

Garden Bar & Patio

If your date lands in high summer.

The largest space we have, out under the pergola with the garden around it and a roof overhead. None of the families below chose it... every one of them went indoors. If your date lands in July, ask Zoe what she has actually seen work out here.

120Seated
200Standing

Best for Warm months, up to 120

One room is missing from that list on purpose. The High Tops holds forty by the bar and has no table long enough to toast across, and a rehearsal dinner is mostly toasting. It is a good place for whoever is still going at ten, though.

★★★★★
Phenomenal! Hosted a rehearsal dinner for my son and future DIL in the library. Banquet manager, Zoe, was always quick to respond to all my emails. Zoe and the chef were accommodating to the needs of our guests by tweaking the menu to fit the needs of the vegetarians in our party. The library was absolutely gorgeous! All the food was delicious! Guests continue to rave about the spinach artichoke dip. I would absolutely recommend this venue for your next event! Although we are quite a distance from here, we look forward to going back to enjoy a dinner.

We held our son’s rehearsal dinner at the Crown Tavern. We had a group of 55 and needed wheelchair access. The Crown Tavern was able to comfortably accommodate our needs. The space was really nice and the food was excellent. They were able to accommodate both the wheelchair and a guest with food allergies. We were late arriving but the food was still warm and delicious. We brought in our own desserts and Zoe made sure we had everything we needed.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the Library on 4/9/26. It was fantastic. The staff was very attentive and kind. They had everything set up early so when guests arrived they were greeted with passed hors d’ouevres and were able to get a drink from the private bar. The room was beautiful so it didn’t really need any decor but we were allowed in an hour early to set up flowers and welcome gifts. Everyone raved about the food the entire night. We would definitely host another event here!

May 9 my son's rehearsal dinner. Food was delicious and we received several compliments from the guests. My sons' and their friends are big IPA fans. The room, lighting and music were great. Enjoyed the fireplace scenes on the TVs I had 2 people with food restrictions/allergies and the staff person sat with each of them and made sure they selected something off the menu or they could eat what was on the buffet. Also, the staff person got coffee for my 85 yr old mom so she wouldn't have to up to the bar. they were very sweet.

We choose The Crown Tavern for our wedding rehearsal dinner! They handled everything and it was such a smooth process. Zoe was easy to coordinate with for getting set up and our staff for the night were awesome! Everything was ready when we got there and it was so nice as a Bride to not having to worry about anything. We were able to relax, eat, and visit. My guest raved about the food options and loved the open bar. The library room was private and comfortable.

Good to Know

Rehearsal dinner questions

What time should a rehearsal dinner start?

Most start somewhere between six and seven, which gives the wedding party time to get from the rehearsal to the table without anybody rushing. Tell Zoe what time the rehearsal itself is and she will work backwards from it. You are in the room an hour before your guests to set up, and the room is yours for three hours once they arrive.

The rehearsal always runs late. Is that a problem?

No. Give Zoe the rehearsal time along with your dinner time and the kitchen works to the rehearsal rather than to the clock, so the food goes out when your guests are actually sitting down. If you are running behind on the night, call us on the way and we will move things back.

We are getting married somewhere else. How far away are you?

We are at 451 Wilmington West Chester Pike in Glen Mills, PA, in Concord Township, Delaware County. That puts us within reach of most of the churches and wedding venues around Chadds Ford, Media, Concordville and the Brandywine Valley, and an easy run from Chester County ... West Chester, Exton and Downingtown all come in from the north and west. Tell Zoe where the ceremony is when you inquire and she will tell you honestly whether we are a sensible drive from it.

Can we do a rehearsal lunch instead of a dinner?

Yes, and more families do it than you would think, particularly when the wedding is the following morning or guests are flying out the same night. We run the same rooms and the same service at midday. Ask Zoe for the daytime menus rather than the dinner ones and she will price it the same way, per person, agreed in advance.

Who is usually invited to a rehearsal dinner?

That is entirely yours to decide, and the parties we host run anywhere from twelve to a hundred. Some keep it to the wedding party, both sets of parents and the grandparents, which sits comfortably in the Britannia Room. Others open it up to everybody who has travelled in, which is where the Library and the Wine Cellar come in. Give Zoe a rough number and she will suggest the room rather than the other way round.

Can we set the seating ourselves and put something on each place?

Please do. You have the room to yourself for an hour before your guests arrive, and that hour is there for exactly this... place cards, welcome bags, favours, flowers, whatever you have carried in. Send Zoe a seating plan beforehand and the tables will already be laid the way you drew them.

When do you need our final numbers?

A few days ahead is usually enough, and Zoe will give you the exact date when she sends your quote. Send any allergies or anything a guest cannot eat at the same time and the kitchen builds around them. A guest or two either side of your final number is not a crisis... tell us and we will sort it.

What happens once we send you our date?

Zoe, our event coordinator, picks it up. She checks your date against what is already booked, suggests the room that suits your numbers, and sends a quote with the price per guest on it. Asking costs nothing and holds nothing... the room becomes yours when you say yes and the deposit is paid, not before. After that Zoe handles it herself, so the person you email a year out is the person who meets you at the door on the night. If you would rather talk than type, call (610) 361-9800 and ask for her.

Can our guests carry on afterwards?

Yes, and plenty do. Your room is yours for three hours, and after that the tavern is still open... the bar runs until midnight Tuesday through Thursday, until one on Friday and Saturday, and until eleven on Sunday. We are closed on Mondays. Nobody is moved along, and the ones with an early start in the morning can slip away without breaking anything up.

Something we have not covered? Ask our event team.

Tomorrow Is Theirs.
Tonight, Let Us Have It.

Send us the date, roughly how many are coming, and what you have in mind. We’ll help you choose the room, build the menu, and take care of the details... so when everyone arrives, you can simply enjoy the night.
